Article for Mormon Insights Magazine
I was asked to submit an article Mormon Insights, an online magazine at mormoninsights.byu.edu. The magazine is written to members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and is intended to be informative and inspirational. The articles give teasers to other publications by the Church and its affiliates. I was asked to write an article between 250 and 500 words, with an optional expandable paragraph of up to 100 words. I was also asked to give three options for titles so that the magazine could select the final one.
Musings on Editing
I was asked to write a paper addressed to people who were interested in editing, but were not necessarily experts on the subject. I wrote about my strengths and weaknesses as an editor. I wrote in an entertaining but informative tone to teach readers just what my brand of editing means.
Article for BYU Magazine
I was asked to write an article for potential submission to BYU Magazine. It was to be a short article of about 100 words that had to do with Brigham Young University and would be interesting to BYU alumni. I chose to write about the English Department Reading Series, a program that invites published authors to read their work at the university for students and members of the community.
